Day one: Agia Marina, the Temple of Aphaia and an evening walk
If you are staying in Agia Marina, the first day can begin gently with a swim at the beach or a coffee close to the sea. The area works well for a relaxed start, especially if you want to ease into the island atmosphere first.
Then, one of the most rewarding stops is the Temple of Aphaia. It is one of the most important sights in Aegina, with a distinct energy and an excellent position on the island. Visiting it gives the two-day trip a more cultural and substantial character from early on.
The afternoon can end back in Agia Marina, with a walk, food or simple relaxation. If you want a two-day stay without intensity, this balance between sea and sight works perfectly.
Day two: Aegina Town, Kolona and Palaiochora
The second day can be devoted more to Aegina Town and its historic side. A walk along the port, the small shops and the market gives a more everyday and authentic picture of the island.
From there, Kolona and the Archaeological Museum are a very good continuation, especially if you want to connect your escape with the historical identity of Aegina. It is a stop worth adding to your plan without taking you away from the main axis of the day.
If you have a little more time, Palaiochora or the Monastery of Saint Nektarios can complement the route very nicely, offering a different image of the island before departure.
Small stops worth making
On a quiet two-day stay, you do not need to try to fit everything in. A good approach is to leave space for small spontaneous stops, whether at a scenic viewpoint or on a beach that suits you better at that moment.
Aegina works best when you live it at an easy pace. With two properly organized days, you can discover both its calmer seaside character and its deeper cultural side.
